At Dylan's February 12, 1966 concert in Virginia, he was backed by his first electric band, the Hawks; Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson, and Levon Helm who had been the back-up band for Ronnie Hawkins, a rockabilly star. Toward the latter half of the 1960s they became The Band.
